It’s a privilege to be Associate Producer of Attitude…. and to present the intimate stories of people all over the world who face the challenge of living with disability.
I acquired my disability a little over a decade ago. I have tertraplegia. It all happened in 1999 – I was living in Dunedin, studying Surveying at Otago Uni, when I put my head in the wrong place in a rugby scrum and fractured my 6th and 7th vertebrae. It became a time to reinvent myself so I instead studied Journalism at the University of Canterbury.
Wheelchair rugby is also a huge part of my life. I have played for teams around the globe. I represented my country as a member of the Wheel Blacks - the team that won Gold at the Athens Paralympics.
Now into my fourth season with Attitude, I am now helping drive the company into the international arena where we believe we have a significant role to play in promoting inclusion and awareness of a wide range of issues to do with both disability and humanity.
