Francis Kompaon set out to change his life through sport, but in taking a silver medal in Beijing for the 100 metre sprint, Papua New Guinea's first and only Olympic medal, the single arm amputee changed his nation's attitude towards disability.

Francis was born with one arm and grew up in a village where physical fitness is crucial to survival. It's so much more than he ever bargained for.
